Overcoming Air Draft Limits and Streamlining Port Operations
Our Rigid Tiltable Wingsail (OW RT) has been specifically designed for Tankers, Chemical Tankers, Bulk Carriers and ROPAX vessels with either air draft limitation or port operation constraints. It offers industry-leading upwind performance and thrust-to-weight ratio, shines with upwind conditions, and delivers double-digit fuel and emission savings.
Engineered for seamless integration in both newbuilds and retrofits, its unique compactness when folded is tailored to address existing port operations constraints, ensuring smooth loading and unloading processes.

Obvious Payback, Easy Integration and compatibility with Port operations
Engineered to overcome either airdraft or port operation constraints, the Rigid Tiltable Wingsail (OW RT) is well suited for Tankers and Bulk Carriers. our Rigid Tiltable Wingsail (OW RT) allows navigating under bridges and entering port infrastructure effortlessly thanks to an extremely compact when folded wingsail.
Whether you're retrofitting an existing vessel or working on a newbuild project, the modular, lightweight, low center of gravity and small footprint design ensure an easy integration for ship designers and shipyards, with no compromise on the cargo space and stability. The Rigid Tiltable Wingsail (OW RT) is built to be robust, low-maintenance, with an expected lifespan of 25 years.
High-Performance Agility
In terms of performance, operations, and maintenance, the Rigid Tiltable Wingsail (OW RT) offers 1.3 tonnes per day fuel saving in average and is particularly adapted with transocean transit voyages. Based on IMO data, for a ship sailing at 16 knots, 87% of the global trading routes exhibit apparent wind angles lower than 75°. This shows that Wind Assistance only makes sense if it produces thrust with headwind.
As such, our 2-element variable camber system differentiates by its thin and aerodynamic profile which generates positive thrust starting at 5° apparent wind angle. This agility is an essential feature for vessel facing unpredictable routes and headwinds.
