America’s cup Winner

A wingsail has been specially designed for BMW Oracle Racing, winner of the 33rd America's Cup in 2010. Since then, all the boats taking part in the America's Cup have used this technology, inspired by aircraft wings.

2019

Energy Observer, industrial demonstrator with two 32m² Lowerable Fixed Wingsails (OW LF)

Equipped with a pair of 32m² Lowerable Fixed Wingsails (OW LF), the Energy Observer zero emission vessel is sailing the seas since 2019.

2023

Canopée, first modern wind powered ship with four 363m² Lowerable Fixed Wingsails (OW LF)

This first ever cargo ship with wingsails is equipped with four 363m² Lowerable Fixed Wingsails (OW LF). The proportion of wind power varies from 15% to 35% depending on the target speed and the route, reducing fuel consumption by the same amount.
