OceanWings, a world leader in Wind Assisted Propulsion for commercial vessels, is announcing the appointment of Lee Kindberg to its board of directors, as an independent board member.
Dr. Lee Kindberg was until March 2024 the Head of Environment and Sustainability for A.P. Moller-Maersk in North American. She was with Maersk for 19 years, managing environmental policies and compliance, customer and stakeholder partnerships on sustainability and decarbonization, and strategic initiatives. She joined Starcrest Consulting Group in April 2024, where she is involved in maritime environmental and decarbonization projects for Port Authorities and the International Maritime Organization.
She served on the Marine Board of the US National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine for six years, and now serves on the National Academies’ Climate Crossroads Advisory Committee. She also served on the US Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Air Act Advisory Committee and co-chaired the EPA Ports Workgroup. She was active for 18 years in Clean Cargo and the Smart Freight Centre, working with global cargo owners to assess and improve the environmental impact of shipping. She is actively involved in work to establish a Los Angeles-Long Beach-Shanghai Green Shipping Corridor.
